SF6 has been used in medium and high voltage switchgear for decades due to its high quenching and insulating properties. However, these excellent properties are reduced by moisture and can lead to failure or – at worst – destruction of the switchgear due to fl ashover. Previously, if high moisture levels were detected, the switchgear would have to be decommissioned and the gas would have to be changed, which is an expensive and time-consuming procedure.
The SmartDryer SF6 makes it easy to „dry“ the gas while the switchgear is in use, thus eliminating downtimes and signifi cantly cutting maintenance costs. The SmartDryer SF6 can be controlled remotely, so no permanent on-site control is required.
